ACT Attack in McAllen
School's out for summer but not for over 80 students that committed two weeks to prepare for the ACT. Precinct 2, in partnership with McAllen ISD and The Boys & Girls Club of McAllen, held their first summer ACT prep program in McAllen where 80 Juniors received scholarships to participate in the 20 hour program created to prepare students with strategies aimed at increasing ACT scores. Preparing students to take the ACT is important as many Tier 1 universities look to scores as one main component of college admissions. Higher scores also increase student's chances at receiving merit based scholarships.
